About
This project results from the work carried out by this team since 2009, with the translation, adaptation and standardization for the Portuguese population of the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS, AAIDD, 2004) within the project "Evaluation of the Activity and Participation of Students with Programs Individuals of Transition: Mapping of two Instruments in Reference to the CIF-CJ "(Researcher responsible Manuela Sanches Ferreira) and in the project "Inclusion in Higher Education: from the guarantee of access to the promotion of success "(Researcher Responsible Miguel Augusto Santos). It results, therefore, from the need to understand the factors that interfere in the process of transition from secondary education to the higher education, to proceed with the development and implementation of a (Pilot) program for young people with additional support needs.
Thus, the project will run along three phases:
- a phase focused on the study of reality, and the construction of the program, involving:
- secondary schools and students with additional support needs, to understand the processes developed for the preparation and referral of young people;
- higher education institutions including their students with additional support needs, studying student reception processes and available supports;
- design of the intervention program.
- a phase of systematic piloting of the program in two groups of schools in the district of Porto;
- a phase of program review and dissemination of results at the national and international levels.
