2) Estate of Cordeiro dos Santos - composer and author (scores, documents)

3) Estate of Marta Ortigão Sampaio - collector and collections (archives and works)

4) Estate of Fernando de Castro (MNSR) - collector, bibliophile and caricaturist

The estates of Portuguese intellectuals are still largely unexplored. In recent years, initiatives to protect the estates have been multiplied, with clear cultural interest, especially in Brazil and France, but also in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Italy.

When an institution ceases activity, or a personality dies, its estate is at risk. Not infrequently, split between the various owners or due to the lack of adequate physical conditions, the opportunity to coherently safeguard indispensable sources for the knowledge of history, memory and cultural heritage, is dissipated. Therefore, it is necessary to work on these documents, as they are testimonies of the personal journey and the professional activity of the four figures who embody each of the lines of research. The estates contain large numbers of documents, manuscripts and typewritten, including biographical writings, photographs, epistolary records, unedited and edited works, clippings of periodicals and various materials (such as minutes, editing contracts, etc.).
