Dear teachers, researchers, and members of the scientific community,

Inspired by the principles of Popular Education and considering the coordinates of authors such as Paulo Freire or Orlando Fals Borda, the Participatory Action Research Methodology (PAR) is still perceived in scientific production contexts as transgression and daring. The thematic issue of Sensos-e, which is now being presented, does not reject these positions, opening a call for articles under the general title Participatory Contexts of Research and Action. Roots, Perspectives, and Projects:

1. Roots. This issue emphasizes the reflexive aspect of project methodology, which requires solid foundations of support, rationale, and ethical-political intent. We welcome texts that critically deepen and refine the methodology of IAP or allied discourses, as well as reflections that uncover and consolidate the roots of critical social work;

2. In terms of perspectives. This issue mobilizes discussions and reflects on arguments where the critical scope of project methodologies calls for other ways of intervening, feeling, producing discourse, and participating democratically.  We call for texts in which participatory methodologies unveil perspectives and rehearse answers and alternatives to concrete social problems.

3. In terms of projects. This issue is aimed at publicizing basic social work that showcases, describes, and critically evaluates IAP projects developed in socio-educational contexts.

The aim is to welcome contributions from the broad field of Social Work and Education Sciences, with an emphasis on the following dimensions:

- Epistemological and methodological reflection

- Education and social intervention projects

- New horizons for action research

- PAR and the construction of democratic citizenship

- PAR and reflective professionalism

- PAR and interdisciplinary dialogue

- PAR and the (re)construction of critical social work
