Child well-being: influencing factors

Child well-being: influencing factors

Small boy riding an older girls' back

Based on children’s perceptions and evaluations, research in different countries has resulted in a series of factors focused on what influences the well-being of children, not only in relation to what they will become in the future, but also their current situation. These factors are related mainly to: the material conditions in which they live, their perceptions of poverty, the family environment, instability in their lives, the school environment, interpersonal relationships and friendships, use of leisure time, and the aspect of their participation. To debate these factors from a cross-cultural perspective is one of the great challenges of the future.
