Sobre

Considering the lack of research that has focused on female futsal teams within the performance analysis literature, the following research questions will drive this project:

  1. What are the patterns of play and behaviors presented by female futsal high performance teams throughout competitive games?;
  2. How do female futsal high performance coaches and their athletes conceptualize coaching, the variables that determine performance and performance outcomes?;
  3. How do female futsal high performance coaches use performance behaviors to design practice environments?;
  4. How do female futsal athletes perceive practice environments and their value for increased performance?.

Specifically, this project aims to describe trends in performance within the first female futsal division by understanding how teams behave throughout a sports season. Further, the project also aims to capture coaches’ and athletes’ perceptions towards sports coaching and the variables that determine performance. Finally, this project also includes a case study approach to examine how coaches and athletes conceive training, analyze performance, and to map athletes’ responses in training and competition.
