Doutorada em Psicologia pela Universidade do Porto (2008). Professora na Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico do Porto, na unidade técnico-científica de Psicologia. Elemento da comissão de curso do mestrado em Educação e Intervenção Social.

Os seus principais interesses de investigação incluem: qualidade dos contextos de educação, interações adulto-criança, envolvimento das crianças, formação de profissionais de educação de infância, intervenção social em contextos de risco.

Tem participado em vários projetos de investigação, dos quais se destacam os projetos: “Implementing Positive Behaviour Support in Early Childhood Education and Care” – PBS-ECEC (2021-1-PT01-KA220-SCH-000034367), no qual é a coordenadora a nível internacional; PARTICIPA - Professional Development Tools Supporting Participation Rights in Early Childhood Education (2019-1-PT01-KA202-060950); BECERID (http://primeirosanos.pt/; http://earlyyearsblog.eu/); COVID-19 pandemic and early education services for 0-3 children: Educational and social impact / Educação em creche em tempos de COVID-19: impacto educativo e social” (Fundação la Caixa, LL20-03-0027); e o projeto Transição de bebés para a creche (http://familiacreche.ese.ipp.pt/). Coorienta um projeto de doutoramento acerca da transição para o Ensino Superior (doutoranda Carla Padrão; carlapadrão@ese.ipp.pt). 

 

Ph.D. in Psychology by the University of Porto (2008). Professor in the Porto Polytechnic School of Education, in the scientific area of Psychology. Member of the Scientific Committee of the Master in Social Education and Intervention.

Her main research interests include: quality of early childhood education, adult-child interactions, child engagement, teacher education and training, social intervention in risk contexts.

She has been participating in several research projects, such as the “Implementing Positive Behaviour Support in Early Childhood Education and Care” – PBS-ECEC (2021-1-PT01-KA220-SCH-000034367) - international coordinator; PARTICIPA - Professional Development Tools Supporting Participation Rights in Early Childhood Education (2019-1-PT01-KA202-060950); BECERID project (http://primeirosanos.pt/; http://earlyyearsblog.eu/) and the project Infant transition to childcare (http://familiacreche.ese.ipp.pt/). She is the co-supervisor of a PhD project about the transition to higher education (PhD student Carla Padrão; carlapadrão@ese.ipp.pt).
